Our Mission.
The Greenway Symposium strives to connect the St. Anne's-Belfield Community with the larger Charlottesville-Albemarle area. We aim to promote healthy discussion inspired by knowledgeable and engaging speakers in a thought-provoking environment.
Our Story.
Centered around the University of Virginia, Charlottesville holds unprecedented intellectual diversity for a city of its size. Thus, it serves as the perfect platform to discuss the issues within our modern society. The completion of St. Anne's-Belfield School's Grisham Hall at the Greenway Rise Campus opened the door to the Greenway Symposium.
Since the spring of 2015, our leadership team of high school students has worked to connect with fascinating speakers. On December 10th 2016, over 130 community members gathered at Grisham Hall for the very first Greenway Symposium, catalyzing the now annual event. Attendees interacted with the five speakers who shared their life stories and service to the larger community.
